Rangers of Shadow Deep gets a lot of love on the Tabletop Miniature Hobby Podcast. We’ve previously done episodes looking through the main rulebook, speaking to creator Joe McCullough, and playing the very first scenario The Deserted Village. Now it’s time to take on the next one – The Infected Trees. Except I’ve actually no tree terrain in my collection, so let’s just go with “infected ruins” instead!

Enjoying the pod.
We’re at the same point in Rangers, fluked our rolls and event draws on that second mission, but maybe have a couple of tips. Trying to thin the enemies from range is definitely helpful, and once you’re closing to combat archers and animals are good for kiting mobs away to help avoid getting outnumbered.
Animals are also good as flying support – you can dash into combat from a good foot away for that +2, but you are vulnerable if you don’t get the kill. We’ve also had fun with a spell that lets you swap positions, so a bird can help move slower guys rapidly around the board.
The healing spell has also gotten a decent workout.
Great info Rob, thanks 🙂
